DESCRIPTION:Next Friday May 21, the Chair in Applied Analysis – Alexander von Humboldt Professorship at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg will host a mini-workshop about “Recent Advances in Analysis and Control (II)“.\nEnjoy with us:\n16:00H – 16:30H\nProf. Maicon Sônego, Universidade Federal de Itajubá – UNIFEI | Instituto de Matemática e Computação – IMC\n“Control for heterogeneous 1D reaction-diffusion equations”\nAbstract. In this talk we are interested in the control of reaction-diffusion equations with heterogeneities and nonlinearities of the monostable and bistable type. Using Dirichlet controls we obtain control results in infinite time that relate the heterogeneities and the length of the interval where the problem is posed. This is an early stage study in collaboration with Prof. Enrique Zuazua ( https://dcn.nat.fau.eu/enrique-zuazua ).\n16:30H – 17:00H\nProf. Minh Binh Tran, Southern Methodist University\n“Some problems concerning wave turbulence and coagulation equations”\nAbstract. In this talk, I will discuss the connection between wave turbulence and coagulation equations. I will propose some open problems and suggest some possible strategies to resolve those problems.
