DESCRIPTION:On January 9, 2024 Prof. Enrique Zuazua will talk on “Control, Cibernetics and Artificial Intelligence” (Control, Cibernética e Inteligencia Artificial) at the IUI Conference Mathematical Modeling: Theory and Applications (“Jornada IUI Modelización matemática: teoría y aplicaciones”) organized at the University of Zaragoza (Spain).\nThe conference will be dedicated to the use of mathematics to study, model, and solve systems and concrete or abstract problems in different scientific and technical fields. Historical studies or open problems where mathematical interpretation is essential for understanding and subsequent resolution are also welcome.\nAbstract. El control de sistemas, también conocido como Cibernética, término acuñado por Ampère y popularizado por Norbert Wiener, se erige como la ciencia del control y la comunicación en animales y máquinas. Su origen se remonta a la antigüedad, impulsado por la aspiración de crear máquinas capaces de realizar tareas humanas de forma automática, liberando así al ser humano.\nLos objetivos fundamentales del control convergen significativamente con los de la disciplina contemporánea de la Inteligencia Artificial, específicamente en el ámbito del aprendizaje automático. Este solapamiento refleja la asombrosa cohesión de las Matemáticas, en su diversidad, y su capacidad para describir la Naturaleza, convirtiéndose en una herramienta esencial para el progreso tecnológico.\nEn nuestra conferencia, exploraremos los estrechos vínculos entre estas disciplinas matemáticas, resaltando su evolución histórica.
