Dr. M Shadi Mohamed is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. Previously, he worked at Durham University. His main research interests lie in computational modelling, with applications in transportation, renewable energy, and disaster management.

Dr. Mohamed is a strong advocate for multidisciplinary and multinational collaborations, believing they are essential to addressing modern challenges. He emphasises that such challenges are multifaceted and cannot be understood from a single perspective. Throughout his academic career, Dr. Mohamed has established a robust network of international collaborations, working with researchers from countries such as Japan, China, Morocco, and Qatar, across various disciplines including engineering, environmental science, and computational physics. These collaborations have significantly enhanced the impact and breadth of his research.
