Hello! I’m Enrico Sartor, a PhD student (November 2024 – August 2025) at the Chair for Dynamics, Control, Machine Learning and Numerics – Alexander von Humboldt Professorship at FAU, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Mathematics in 2022 from the University of Udine, where I also completed my master’s degree in 2024, specializing in dynamical systems. My thesis, written during a six-month exchange at ETH Zurich, focused on sparse optimal control of non-local continuity equations.

I work on stochastic optimal control and the optimal control of PDEs. My interests also include Wasserstein geometry and optimal transport, as well as mathematical questions arising in modern machine learning. My research interests include optimal control of (infinite-dimensional) dynamical systems, optimal transport, and their connections to deep learning.
