Title: A non-controllability result for the half-heat equation on the whole line based on the prolate spheroidal wave functions and its application to the Grushin equation

Abstract. In this talk, after recalling some basic elements of linear control theory, I will explain how one can use some special functions, the Prolate Spheroidal Wave Functiosn (PSWF), that saturate some uncertainty principle, can be used to give non-controllability results for the half-heat equation on the real line, and for the Grushin equations on the plane.
