BAYLAT and the chair “Dynamics, Control and Numerics – Alexander von Humboldt Professorship” of FAU sign an agreement to promote the exchange of talents in mathematical research
On February 27, 2023, BAYLAT and the Chair “Dynamics, Control and Numerics – Alexander von Humboldt Professorship” (DCN-AvH) at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) officially signed an agreement. BAYLAT was represented by Prof. Dr. Andrea Pagni, Chair of the Board of Directors, while Prof. Dr. Enrique Zuazua, Director of DCN-AvH, represented the Chair. Dr. Irma de Melo, executive director of BAYLAT, was also present.

The agreement continues a collaboration that has already existed since 2021, an initiative of Dr. Zuazua. He has shown great interest in the work of BAYLAT, since one of the main objectives of this institution is the coordination of academic and scientific research between Bavaria and Latin America. Several working meetings have consolidated the interest in collaborating in this direction.

Magaly Roldán-Plumey, J.D. was hired at the end of 2022 as a liaison/interlocutor to DCN AvH and as the person in charge of scientific communication and project coordination at BAYLAT.

With the signing of the agreement, DCN-AvH officially becomes a strategic partner of BAYLAT. Both institutions will join forces to intensify joint and sustainable collaboration, research and teaching with Latin America. This challenge requires joint efforts and collaboration and is anchored by Article 17 “Partnerships to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals” of the United Nations (UN) Agenda 2030. Integrative partnerships are promoted to enhance global North-South and South-South cooperation and exchange of experts in science, technology and innovation, and to develop new solutions with participatory, inter- and transdisciplinary research approaches.
