He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1993).
Currently, he is a full professor at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the Federal Fluminense University and holds a CNPq research productivity grant (1-D). He has experience in the field of Mathematics, with an emphasis on Partial Differential Equations and Control Theory. He has supervised 12 master’s students and 9 doctoral students. He is the coordinator of the “Seminar on PDEs and Applied Mathematics,” an international online seminar held since September 2020, where renowned mathematicians from around the world give lectures.
He is the leader of the PDE Control Research Group at IME-UFF and coordinator of the Brazil-Germany PROBRAL CAPES-DAAD project “Control and numerical analysis of complex systems” between the Federal Fluminense University (UFF) and the Friedrich Alexander University (FAU), 2024-2027.
