Professor Kai Zhang earned his PhD from Jilin University in 2006, with his dissertation recognized as an outstanding doctoral dissertation of Jilin province. In 2008, he received a joint doctoral degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and conducted postdoctoral research at Michigan State University from 2008 to 2010. In 2020, he was appointed as a Tang Aoqing distinguished professor at Jilin University.
Professor Zhang has carried out collaborative research at Illinois State University and Auburn University. His primary research interests are in the numerical methods for stochastic partial differential equations, with a focus on stochastic Maxwell equations and stochastic wave equations, as well as the application of machine learning to solve inverse scattering problems. He has led 11 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has published over 60 papers.
