Title: How to steer a fleet of agents by controlling only a few of them
Speaker: Enrico Sartor

Abstract. In this talk, we focus on sparse optimal control of large multiagent systems. An example is given by the shepherd who is able to steer the flock of sheep to a designated destination by only controlling his dogs. As the number of agents increases, the problem encounters the curse of dimensionality, where managing a large system of coupled ordinary differential equations becomes computationally infeasible. To address this issue, we consider the mean-field limit for the non-controllable agents and present a novel Pontryagin minimum principle in this setting.
